Club Development

The Dundee Sports Development Officer works closely with two of Dundee's basketball clubs, the Dundee Sharks and the Menzieshill Madsons to develop club infrastructure, membership levels, fund raising and school / club links. Both clubs are participating in both the clubdundee and basketballscotland accreditation and club development schemes.

Primary Schools Festivals + Central Venue League

Work is also being done to improve existing school-club links, to foster new links and to ensure that as many primary school children as possible will have a positive basketball experience during their primary schools years.

The Dundee Sports Development Officer works closely with Active Schools co-ordinators to promote and deliver Primary Schools Basketball festivals and the termly Dundee PS Central Venue League (CVL).

The CVL is split into an East and West Division. This gives our younger basketball players more opportunities to play the sport and will hopefully encourage them to stay within the game and progress on the player pathways.

The festival and central venue league calendar comes to a climax at the Dundee Finals, where festival and central venue league winners are established.

If you would like further information on the Dundee Primary Schools’ basketball festivals or CVL please contact 432313.
